TEAM POSTING IS UP!

Good morning Everyone! Team posting for tonight is up! :) (Monsoon weather permitting)

Questions and Answers:

What if its raining?
Depending on where its raining. Sometimes its pouring down in Jomtien and Sunny in Naklua. So we all keep contact with the Naklua side. But usually we will send an email/ sms between 5-6pm to let you know if its cancelled.

What if it stars raining while we playing?

Well....we'll usually get off the court and go for a drink....

What are the Court Fee's For?
Court fees are for the general Use of the faciility; they are really good facilities; so its also for the electricity used to power the night lights; as well as the cost for making up the bibs etc. Also Once we have paid for the bibs and facilities we will have a profit of which we can use to the teams descrecion.

What if i cant come? How do i Let you know?

I see that its a mixed leauge and im a bit nervous of playing with Men?
Netball is a no contact sport. So if the guys are getting to rough or to close they get blown up and sent off. We have the blokes playing soley on the basis of low numbers; and its great to get some husbands involved. Once we have the numbers up we can divide the teams into all female and maybe a mixed team. We Can all see how this develops in the futurer if the numbers pick up a bit.

I have noticed that there is more than one team playing? I would like to join but am concerned the teams are full?

We have different team names to keep ourselves entertained. We generally count up the numbers and split them in 2 and give them random names just to mix the team we do have up a little. It allows for the weaker and stronger players to improve their skills and makes for some interesting "team spirit" :)

How is basketball and netball different?

Netball is a non-contact generally indoor sport similar to, and derived from, basketball. It is usually known as a women's sport. It was originally known in its country of origin, the United States, as "women's basketball". Invented in 1895 by Clara Gregory Baer, a pioneer in women's sport.

Netball has a few similarities to basketball. That's because it started off as a women's version of basketball in America. The really big difference between netball and basketball is that you can't dribble with the ball. Instead you can step or pivot from your landing foot before passing the ball on in Netball sport. In basketball u have contact, as it is a ball and court based game played on a court by oppsing teams of 5 players.

A netball court is divided into three sections with seven players on each team. You can't throw the ball the whole length of the court, it has to be passed through every section. Netball is a non-contact sport and the defenders have to be 0.9 metres from the player with the ball. To keep the game really fast, once you've caught the ball, you only have three seconds to pass it on again. Shooting is pretty simple too, the ball goes through the net and it's a point for your team.

ABOUT PATTAYA'S NETBALL TEAM!

WE ARE A COLLECTION OF PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THAILAND; COMING TOGETHER FOR A BIT OF ENERGETIC AND FUN FILLED NETBALL FOR EVERYONE FROM THE NOVICE TO ADVANCED. WE PLAY EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT AT FAIRTEX SPORTS CLUB ON PATTAYA NUA. WE USUALLY STAR WARMING UP AT 7:30 AND THEN PLAY A GAME.

WE ARE A MIXED TEAM; MEN AND WOMAN ALTHOUGH IT CHANGES EVERY WEEK!

ITS A GREAT WAY TO GET FIT OR KEEP FIT AND IS FUN AND FILLED WITH GREAT PEOPLE TO MEET.

WE USUALLY EMAIL EVEYONE ON MONDAY AND AGAIN ON TUESDAY TO CONFIRM NUMBERS AND IF WE ARE TO LOW ON NUMBERS WE USUALLY CALL IT OFF....SO PLEASE PLEASE JOIN. WE ALSO NOT THAT KEEN ON PLAYING IN THE RAIN AND ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR AN INDOOR COURT FOR DURING THE RAINY SEASON! IF HOWEVER THE RAIN DOES COME DOWN WHILE WE PLAYING....THEN ITS OFF TO THE BAR FOR A FEW DRINKS; AND THEN OFF HOME.......
